I’m not completely sure about this, but incumbent Comptroller Mendoza says consolidating the Treasurer and Comptroller’s offices is JUST LIKE slavery! I’m glad we have a Comptroller so attuned to the concerns of minorities. She really gets it… They’re totally the same thing — SLAVERY AND ASKING VOTERS WHETHER WE SHOULD CONSOLIDATE THE treasurer AND cOMPTROLLER’S OFFICES!

“But it’s a terrible issue,” Mendoza replied. β€œIf they wanted to put slavery on the ballot, would you advocate that they do that? No.””

Thank God we’re sending such smart and empathetic people to Springfield. πŸ™‚
